 Kempegowda of Kanivemadapura had become worried man. He was in a deep state of anguish; because of the rise in the cost of the manure he had been using to cultivate his lands along with the reduced yield every year
It was about five years ago that ‘GREEN Foundation’ stepped into his Life. The field officers literally showed him the way to get out of this trap. They urged him to use simple effective organic manure instead of the chemical manure he had been using in his field. Kempegowda had never imagined that he could give up chemical fertilizers and replace it with organic fertilizers. Green foundation taught him the simple technique of preparing manure from unwanted waste materials like dried leaves, mud, and cow dung slurry. GREEN Foundation also constructed two cement tanks for him to carry on the preparation of vermicompost by allowing the waste materials to decay and getting high quality manure within 45-60 days by maintaining moisture.
Kempegowda is now a real model for other farmers. He sells the extra manure to other farmers at Rs.3/- per Kg. He is very happy with the yield he gets now switch the help of organic manure ‘vermicompost’ has really changed his Life.
