1. Dr. Vanaja Ramprasad
Director, GREEN Foundation.
Vanaja Ramprasad started her career in a Community Health
Programme in 1973. This set her on a search for viable answers to the
problem of poverty and malnutrition. She has worked with many grass root
level organisations to seek funding support for facilitating planning,
monitoring and evaluating development programmes. She has been actively
involved in issues relating to women and population control, rational
use of medicines, alternative health care systems and now alternative
agricultural practices. In 1992 she initiated the seed conservation programme
in the backward border areas of Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Vanaja Ramprasad
has a very strong spiritual leaning and believes in nature's order of
evolution.
2. Mr. Krishna Prasad,G.
Our environmental enthusiast who has a keen interest in photography,
Krishnaprasad is a qualified Environmental Engineer who is deeply committed
to the work of Bio-diversity conservation from past 12 years. Presently,
he is involved in networking with different NGOs for implementing seed
conservation activities and establishment of community seed banks in different
parts of Karnataka, which is an offshoot of GREEN Foundation's decade
of effort to conserve agricultural diversity in subsistence crops. He
received the prize for the best freelance writer on agricultural matters
in Karnataka in 2002.
3. Mr. Srikanth
Post graduate in agriculture with specialization
in Soil Sciences and Agriculture Chemistry. Initial work experience in
pesticide residue analysis and digital analysis of remote sensing data
for crop acreage and production estimation. Strong expertise in varietal
multiplication, commercial seed production of vegetables, cotton, field
crops and oilseeds crops, plant varietal purification, integrated pest
and diseases management, plant nutrition, demonstration and multi locational
trails, product management and agricultural extensions research in organic
farming and business development product promotion.
4. Mr. Srikanta Murthy
A Masters in sociology and post graduate diploma in human resoure management. For over 2 decades involved in rural community development, watershed development and management, and rural livelihood projects.
5. Mr. Mahesh . K
Financial custodian of GREEN Foundation. He is our accounts manager, Masters in commerce, effcient and genius in his work. He, in his earlier stint worked with a leading chartered accounting firm associated only with the NGOs, auditing their works. He was deputed to Sri Lanka for Tsunami Financial assessment for the donors.
6. Mr. Shivakumar
A law graduate. Involved in rural development and poverty allevation, authority in soil conservation and watershed program and trainer in rural capcity building for village development committee.
7. Mr. Ningappa Kakkol
Post graduate in agriculture with specialization in Agronomy. Has initial
work experience as Research Associate in University of Agricultural Sciences,
Dharwad. Has expertise as agricultural specialist in Rural Management,
Consultancy at community level and Agricultural Research with community
participation.
8.Mr. Madhu S.K.
Post graduate in agriculture with specialization in Agronomy.
9. Ms. Veena
Post graduate in agriculture. Documentalist with GREEN incharge of documenting of our research activities and publications. She is a person with a innovative bent of mind and commited to the cause.
10. Dr. B.R. Athani
Basically a veterinary
graduate with post graudation in Rural Development Managment (IRMA) and bioinformatics. He has a vast experience of 20+ years in dairy industry, particularly community baed organisations, livelihood, promotion, rural enterprises, marketing and enterprise management solutions. His areas of interest are agrobiodiversity conservation and promotion of livestock based livelihood interventions.
11. Mr. Shivaraj.C. Hunagund
Post graduate in environmental biology,Apiculturest and applying this knowledge in five districts of North Karnataka. . He is also responsible to disseminate the GREEN Foundation activities in the network project area.
